WHY ARE WE HERE...

There was no rehab home here in Agra, for the needful, neglected and abused street dogs, and for abandoned pets. Casper's Home gives shelter to such animals, treats them, arranges for adoptions, maintains a list, and does pre and post house checks done, in an organized manner, by staff and volunteers.

Our organization wants to work for long-term solutions, like regular feeding, bigger rehab homes, running Animal Birth Control, RWA sensitisation towards the stray animals, adoption of Indie dogs, thus inspiring the whole city to contribute towards community service and feeding hungry mouths.

WHY JOIN US

Casper's Home Trust, Agra brought about revolutionary changes in the approach towards committed animal welfare not only in Agra, but also set an example for many in just 6 years,by our marathon efforts towards raising mass awareness through our various endeavours.Earlier there was absolute dependence on indifferent authorities and 9 to 5 helplines and ngos were just about treatment,ABC,release. But we created a strong network of freelance paravets and volunteers to administer first aid during emergencies, without looking at the clock. We also changed the mindsets of the youngsters and set a trend of indie adoptions which earlier no one made efforts for. When FIAPO initiated the first aid programme in Agra in 2016,we took it forward in a big way and today we have a huge team of young volunteers who help us in First Aid/ARV drives, pre and post-adoption home checks and to fight against animal cruelty too.

  • Our dream home for the voiceless, a heaven on earth, got submerged due to flooding during the rains. Despite repeated reminders to the Nagar Nigam, the water came gushing in from the gaushala, where no drainage arrangements were made. we managed to rescue all our babies, in the middle of the night, and take them to the old and way too small, shelter. Almost a month later, the shelter is still submerged, and no efforts have been made by the authorities to salvage our belongings.

  • Humanity reached its lowest point when three innocent dogs were attacked by acid at village Khandauli in the dead of the night. The culprits ran away and the case was reported to us on our helpline. The dogs were rescued and brought to the shelter for their treatment, which is a long, tedious and painful road ahead. Also our struggle is on for filing official complaint at the local thana, which has proven to be quite unsuccessful so far.

  • Sweetie, a two month old golden labrador was rescued from her heartless, drunk owner, who kept her tied up and abused her. It was a difficult rescue, but thanks to Maneka Gandhi ma'am, and her intervention, we were able to save Sweetie from this man's clutches. He was warned and counselled previously, without success. She had an eye injury, with wounds all over her body. Sweetie was adopted by Ruchira and her family, renamed Snoopy and is getting all the love and pampering she deserves.
